//-->TheIContinues...Storyt seems there’s no end to the drone story at the moment with new manufacturers andsuppliers popping up all over the place. It’s a very exciting time for the industry asdesigners come up with new ideas and ways to make their products stand out fromall the rest. One area that seems to be developing faster than most is in first personview (FPV) racing. There are new racing frame suppliers appearing all the time, keento push the design limits and come up with the lightest, strongest and most competitiveproduct available. This was certainly the case at the recent UK Drone Show which tookplace in December. It was a very wide-ranging event that included everything from smallleisure drones, through to large professional camera rigs and beyond. But in amongstall these was a large racing area that was constructed especially for the event whichincluded various obstacles for the pilots to negotiate. There’s no doubt that piloting aracing quad using FPV glasses requires plenty of skill and the large crowd that gatheredto watch the races certainly seemed to appreciate the action they provided. The racing arena was a big crowd pleaser at the show and it was great to witnesspeople enjoying the entertainment and racing spectacle. This area of the drone hobbyis particularly interesting for a number of reasons. First of all it usually takes place in anorganised, controlled and safe environment which takes away the safety worries manypeople have at the mere mention of the word drone. It actually makes use of the advancesin sensor, GPS and camera technology to provide a very exciting new sport that’s funto compete in as well as being thrilling to watch. Plus it gives drone enthusiasts a newpurpose and something to do with their machines other than just take aerial photos andvideo. I can see this part of the hobby developing and growing very fast and we will keepyou up to date with all the latest releases and technology.Speaking of new releases, you will no doubt have noticed the new Parrot Bebop 2that’s featured on the cover of this month’s issue.
